Momentum Zero
What we call memory are closed spaces that lead us not only into the past, but also to the beginning, the beginning of all things.
The world seems to be fragmented into its elements, challenging senses and intuition. Seeking protection and orientation, six people grope their way forward on unsafe terrain, stumble and slide, finding moments of balance and support together. Their will to change breaks new ground while bizarre beings cross their paths.
In Rena Donsbach’s set design with the detailed costume designs of the Hungarian Csenge Vass, a cosmos of its own is created to the haunting sound of Simon Goff, in which the Ensemble Of Curious Nature misses the coordinates of Zero as a turning point and a new beginning. In this way Helge Letonja once again creates a filigree, choreographic symbol of our inner and fellow world.

On the shoulders of Giants
It If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
(Isaac Newton)
Based on the cultural-historical parable of the dwarves on the shoulders of giants, Helge Letonja questions the connecting lines between past, present and future in suggestive body and pictorial languages: With what attitude do we encounter what surrounds us? Which traces and values do we follow, which do we leave behind? Do we remain in the role of observers in the face of recurring social upheavals or do we resist tendencies of radicalisation and exclusion? The ensemble deals with the fragility of human existence in a multifaceted and physically intense way. To compositions and songs by Simon Goff and Lynn Wright, the piece unfolds a multi-layered reference space on the constitution and transformation of complex worlds.

Turbulence
In TURBULENCE, Helge Letonja explored parallels between the physics scientific phenomenon with the mechanisms of human upheavals. Created in exchange with bionics experts from the Hochschule Bremen, the choreography combined bursts of movement and detailed views on the whirls of opposing currents and social imbalances.
